What can be better than sitting at home eating fruit and painting it?

I was a bit nervous at first when charged with the challenge of creating illustrations for this quirky organic hard candy. My medium of choice is oil or acrylic, I cannot remember when I have used watercolor last….grammar school? As luck would have it, or genetics, my Aunt Erzsi is a gifted botanical illustrator. So I called her up to give me advice on how best to work with the medium and subjects. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her help.

Creating characters

I did research on the flavors of the hard candy and where they are derived from. The flower illustrations depict each fruit flavor, pear blossom, blood orange blossom etc. The insects were created to characterize the irresistable attraction to these unique candies.

  1. You can turn your back on a person, but never turn your back on a drug, especially when its waving a razor sharp hunting knife in your eye. • The trouble with Nixon is that he’s a serious politics junkie. He’s totally hooked and like any other junkie, he’s a bummer to have around, especially as President.

  2. I wouldn’t recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they’ve always worked for me. If you’re going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you’re going to be locked up.
